…holds public lecture, Sunday
In recognition of his sterling contributions to Nigerian society and beyond, the Ma’asalam Islamic Foundation (MIF) will on Sunday (June 5, 2022) organise 4th annual Memorial prayer/lecture in hornour of former President of the Court of Appeal, late Hon. Justice Muhammed Mustapha Adebayo Akanbi.
The event, according to the MIF Coordinator, Mallam Toyin Ally, will take place at Munfa’at Aduke Akanbi Memorial Mosque, No. 6B Agba Dam Link Road GRA, Ilorin, Kwara State capital, beginning at 10 am prompt.
The Vice-Chancellor, Ahman Pategi University, Professor Mahfouz Adebola Adedimeji, will be the guest lecturer on the occasion as he would be speaking on the topic “Late Hon. Justice Mustapha Mustapha Adebayo Akanbi: Lessons from the Life of Legend”.
Mallam Ally disclosed that MIF was founded by late Hon. Justice Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi in 2009 as an offshoot of the Mustapha Akanbi Foundation (MAF) and it has since then been offering humanitarian assistance to people across the country.
Parts of the mandate of MIF according to the coordinator include community outreach to various villages, hospitals, prisons among others across Kwara State with provision of funds and materials to improve their living.
Hon. Justice Akanbi died on 3rd of June, 2018 in Ilorin after a brief illness.
