The Kwara State Head of Service (HOS), Mrs. Susan Dupe Oluwole, today paid a condolence visit to the family of the State Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Akinshola Akinwumi.
Akinwumi, according to the release signed by the press Secretary of the office office of the Head of Service, Murtala Atoyebi, was among the victims killed by terrorists in the dastard attack on the Abuja/Kaduna train route services.
Mrs. Oluwole expressed shock at the incident, describing the late labour leader as a humble person that has contributed tremendously to the harmonious labour relationship with the State Government.
The HOS, however, lamented the increasing rate of insecurity in the country and appealed to Nigerians to support government in its efforts at curbing the menace.
While praying God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest, Oluwole pledged the State Government’s support to the widow and children of the deceased.
Receiving the government delegation, the State Secretary of TUC, Comrade Joseph Meshack commended the HOS for her prompt visit and pleaded with the State Government for assistance on behalf of the family of the late Chairman.
The HOS was accompanied on the visit by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Abdulmumin Onagun, the Permanent Secretary (Establishment/Pension), Alh. Shuaib Boni Aliyu, and the Director, (Establishment & Pension), Alh. Yusuf Ibrahim, among others.
