Kwara State Government has urged Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the State on compliance with due procurement guidelines.
The General Manager, Kwara State Public procurement Agency (KWPPA), QS. Raheem Abdulbaki, disclosed this in his office while receiving the team from the Kwara Fadama NG-CARES Office.
Abdulbaki, who expressed delight over the visit by the team, explained that the meeting availed the two offices the opportunities to discuss matters of mutual interests, and spur positive collaboration regarding due procurement guideline.
The General Manager, in a statement signed by Wuraola Rukayat Ishola, applauded the spirit of compliance with the due procurement guidelines displayed by KWPPA, pledging that his office will always be ready to strengthen collaboration with the Fadama NG-CARES Coordination Office.
He called on other Agencies in the State to see that they comply with the State’s rules on public procurement.
Earlier in his address, the State Project Coordinator, Kwara State Fadama NG-CARES Coordination Office, Engr. Dr. Busari Toyin Isiaka, presented the overview of the Fadama NG-CARES project, stating that the office will not play down procurement guidelines in the implementation of the Fadama NG-CARES project.
He also explained that the Fadama NG-CARES project will make use of community-based procurement, which will require the beneficiaries to choose Service Providers for themselves.
Busari, who congratulated Abdulbaki on his appointment as the General Manager of the Agency, prayed God to continue giving him the wisdom required to pilot the Agency effectively.
The Kwara State Public Procurement Agency,created by the State Government, has the responsibility of putting in place all the necessary structures and regulatory authorities responsible for the monitoring and oversight of Public Procurement.
Present at the meeting were the Director, Finance and Supply, Dr. Ibrahim, Barr. Ahmed Mohammed Jibril, Head of Legal Unit, Dr. (Mrs) Al-mustspha, Mr. Mayokun Olorunnisola, among other staff of the Agency.
Recall that the Agency had earlier hosted members of the Council for Regulation of Engineering (COREN) on the 2nd of August this year.
