KWASU, Al-Hikmah partner on research, community devt

The Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete and Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin (AUI) have begun collaborative efforts to strengthen research endeavours and expand the scope of community development oriented programmes and projects.


The idea of creating synergy between the two institutions came to the fore on Wednesday (July 28, 2021) when the Vice Chancellor of KWASU and his management team paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University. 


In his address, Professor Akanbi SAN underscored the benefit derivable from partnership between the two citadels of learning especially in the areas of quality teaching, globally acknowledged peer-review researches and promotion of an enduring community development programmes as enshrined in the cardinal objectives of every ivory tower. 


The Senior Advocate of Nigeria particularly sought for working relationship with the sister institution in the areas of teaching, research, sporting activities and other related programmes that spur growth and development in the society. 


He thanked the Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University,  Professor Yusuf for his earlier visit to KWASU shortly after he became the Vice Chancellor sometimes last year, adding that his presence in the institution was a return visit.
Professor  Akanbi pledged a continued robust relationship with Al-Hikmah University in order  to achieve all common goals by the two institutions. 


Earlier in his welcome address,  the Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University,  Professor Yusuf enumerated various areas KWASU and Al-Hikmah University could partner such as in researches, Sporting Tournament, staff and students exchange, organising local and international conferences among several other collaborative activities.


Professor Yusuf particularly thanked the Vice Chancellor for deeming it fit to lead his management team on a courtesy visit to Al-Hikmah University and prayed God  to grant both institutions accomplishment of all their proposed joint plans.


Highlight of the occasion was the constitution of a 10-man technical committee whose membership was drawn from the two universities.
