KWSG Inaugurates Kwara Poly Visitation Panel

Kwara State Government has inaugurated a visitation panel for the Kwara Sate Polytechnic, Ilorin.

Inaugurating the visitation panel today Wednesday (August 5, 2020) in her office, the State Commissioner for the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Hajiya Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, charged members of the committee to use their wealth of experience to strive to develop the education sector of Kwara State.

Her words: “Your panel is being constituted to bring the desired positive change to the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin”.

The Commissioner, who thanked members of the panel for accepting to serve, assured them of her Ministry’s support whenever the need arises.

Hajiya Kawu also enjoined the panel to adhere strictly to the terms of reference given by the State Government.

The terms of reference of the panel according to a statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry, Adamu Muhammed Saidu, include but not limited to the following:

  1. To determine the relationship between the institution and the various statutory bodies it interacts with according to its laws for purposes of supervision, planning, finance, discipline and guidance. Such bodies include the Governing Council and the supervisory agencies; NABTEB, and the State Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Technology as well as the Visitor.
  2. To examine the leadership quality of the institution in terms of the role of the Governing Council, the Management, the Rector and other principal officers in general administration; specifically, on the activities, challenges and achievements of the current management, and Council since assumption of office.
  3. To examine the financial management of the institution and determine whether it was in compliance with appropriate regulations, among others.

The 8-man panel has Dr. Fatai Bello as its Chairman with Arc. Suleiman, Talban Lafiagi; AbdulGaniyu Sani; and Muyideen Aliyu as members.

Others are Mrs. Yetunde Adekeye; Hajiya Asmau, Yusuf Saka Oloru while Ayansola Jostina would serve as Secretary.

Responding on behalf of other members of the panel, the Chairman, Dr. Fatai Bello thanked the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for giving them the opportunity to serve in this capacity.

Dr. Bello promised to justify the confidence the State Government reposed in them.

He also pledged to bring their wealth of experience to bear and work with utmost sincerity on the assignment given to them.
