The Vice-Chancellor of the Kwara State University KWASU, Malete, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN, has constituted a 15-member Consultative Committee to serve as an advisory body for the Vice-Chancellor.
Inaugurating the committee members on Friday, May 1, 2020 at the KWASU Conference Center, Ilorin, the Vice-Chancellor said the constitution of such committee was contained in the KWASU Law.
Specifically, section 20 of the KWASU law provides that such a committee be put in place to advise the Vice-Chancellor on matters affecting the welfare of the University Community.
Professor Akanbi advised the committee members to as a matter of priority come up with useful advice on how to collectively move the Institution forward adding that the committee should meet once every three months.
He stressed his respect for the rule of law and due process which he said would guide the day-to-day running of the University.
The committee is chaired by Professor A.G.F. Alabi, with Dr Jimoh Ajadi as Secretary. Other members of the committee include representatives of academics, leaders of non-academic unions, the alumni association, and student representatives.
