The Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Adeoti has commiserated with the family of Etsu Patigi and the entire people of Patigi community over the demise of one of the leading traditional rulers in kwara state, Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Chatta Umar.
The Olomu in an interview with the HIGHPROFILE described the death of Etsu Patigi as a terrible blow to traditional institution in the state and kwara state in general.
Oba Adeoti who attended the same Government Secindary School (GSS) Ilorin with the late monarch, described the late First Class Chief as a custodian of culture and good heritage who derived pleasure in promoting the cultural values and development of his community and kwara in general.
Being a Vice Chairman of the state’s council of Chiefs under the chairmanship of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, Adeoti said the late Etsu was one of the strong pillars of the council as he was a dedicated and considerate leader to all his subjects.
“As a school mate I feel more touched about his journey to the world beyond. I met with Etsu Patigi around December last at the Emir palace when Atiku Abubakar campaign organisation visited the Emir. That was first time of my meeting him after I became the Olomu of Omu-Aran, and he was so happy for my joining them in the council. He asked me to introduce myself and I told him I attended GSS Ilorin, he asked me what year and I told him 1967/71 and he said “you are my senior” he replied that he too attended GSS, Ilorin between 1969/73.
“That was how we started the reunion as school mates. It was a short of reunion. I didn’t know it won’t last. I pray God to grant him aljanat Fridays and grant the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss” Oba Adeoti prayed
The Olomu of Omu-Aran used the medium to sympathize with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahiim Sulu Gambari, all the traditional rulers in the state, people of Patigi local government area, immediate family members of the late Etsu and people of Kwara in general and prayed grant the late Etsu aljanat Firdaous.
