The Labour Party Governorship candidate in Kwara state, Comerade Issa Aremu mni has given kudos to the Media practitioners in the state for demonstrating high level of professionalism during the just concluded general elections.
Aremu gave the commendation when he led a team of Labour Party on a thank you visit to media houses domisile in the state as well as other critical stakeholders in electoral system.
Comrade Aremu who is the Vice President IndustriALL Global Union, said that the idea of the visit was to thank the media houses for providing unalloyed support to labour party throughout it’s electioneering campaign.
Aremu who visited radio kwara, Herald Newspapers, Kwara Television, Unilorin fm, Sobi fm, NTA Ilorin, Royal fm and several other media houses in the state, commended the leadership of all the media organisations in the state for providing a level playing ground to all political parties in the state.
While saying that media is critical in democratic government, Aremu called on media to always give correct signal to members of the public for them to distinguish the right from wrong.
“I sacrificed my ambition to support APC in the interest of liberation and freedom of kwarans for the accelerated growth and development of the state” he said
In his comment, the LP Chairman, Comerade Abdulkareem Mumini Onagun thanked all Media practitioners in the state for their wonderful roles played before, during and after the just concluded general elections.
He thanked the staff and management team of all stations for providing enabling environment for adequate, objective and accurate reportage of political and none political events in the state.
In their separate comments, the General Manager of Radio Kwara, Alhaji Abdulateef Adebowale, the general manager of Kwara Television Alhaji Abdulfatahi Adewale Adebowale, General Manager Herald Alhaji Abdulrasaq Asebayo, Station Manager of Unilorin fm and Director of Corporate Affairs of the institution, Alhaji Idris Alooma and Mr Kunle Akogun respectively, General Manager NTA Ilorin Engineer Kamaldeen Adegbindin, all thanked the LP Governorship in the state, Comrade Issa Aremu, for finding time to appreciate them.
They said kwarans are very proud of Comerade Aremu for his doggedness, couragge and resillience to move the kwara state forward.
