Thousands of market women and men at Owode Market, Offa, and their counterparts at Ajase-Ipo Kara market have declared their supports for the Labour Party Governorship Candidate in kwara state, Comrade Issa Aeemu mni ahead of the March 9th Governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
Also throwing their weight behind the candidature of the state labour party gubernatorial candidate, are people of Ijagbo town, the ancestral home of Comrade Aremu, who trooped out in their numbers to give their loving son a rousing welcome and great hospitality.
The door-to-door campaign train of the labour party, which took off from Maraba Market in Ilorin metropolis on Friday enroute Ganmo in Ifelodun local government area of the state, also visited some communities in Kwara South such as Omupo, Ajase-Ipo, Ijagbo and Offa towns where the labour party campaign team was joyfully received and welcomed by sons and daughters of each visited town including traders, artisans, religious leaders and traditional title holders among others.
The Chairman of Ajase-Ipo Kara Market, Alhaji Abdulraheem Omo-Okunola described comrade Aremu’s visit to the market as a reflection of his sincerity of purpose and sensitivity to the plight of masses.
He disclosed that none of gubernatorial candidates in the state has ever visited the market for wherever reason, and assured Comrade Aremu of the massive votes from the teaming men and women of Ajase-Ipo kara market under his chairmanship whom he said are residents of various communities across the state.
Similarly, the Babaloja of Omupo land, Alhaji Yusuf Atilola who spoke on behalf of market men and women in front of Omupo Central Mosque shortly after the Jumaat prayer, said his members were happy to receive labour party governorship candidate in their town and gave assurance that they were all ready to cast their votes for him during the next Saturday governorship election in the state.
It was a home coming for the LP governorship hopeful at Ijagbo town where he first paid homage to Alhaji Sanni Kajogbola and his eldest son who welcomed comrade Aremu’s team with songs and dance.
The large turnout of sons and daughters of Ijagbo town including the aged ones was impressive and very encouraging.
The Chief Imam of Ijagbo, Alhaji Miftaudeen Muhammed Jamiu led the teaming population including old women, some of them were shedding tears of joy hugging and hovering themselves around governorship candidate who they said had his primary education in Ijagbo community.
The Chief Imam, the Deputy Chief Imam, as well as elders in the community offered fervent prayers for the success of the labour party in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
The story was the same at the popular Owode market in Offa as traders in the market were pleased to see the labour party governorship candidate within their midst.
Aremu, who took time to give traders adequate attention, also personally bought several items such as panmo, potatoes, roasted banana (Boli), bread and many more from the market women.
Speaking on the rational behind his action, Aremu said the only way market men and women could be empowered is through adequate patronage.
He said labour party had since been demonstrating the concept of promoting local materials and empowering our people by ensuring that all items used for their campaign are bought from within Nigeria.
Earlier on Saturday morning, Comrade Aremu’s campaign train visited Kwara State Stadium Complex where a large number of youth in their various spot where are carrying out various sporting activities including dancing group pledged their unalloyed support to Comrade Aremu, saying that he remained the only governorship candidate to visit stadium Complex, Ilorin.
Later in the day, the campaign team, also moved to Offa and other neighbouring towns for the continuity of the it’s day-to-day campaign rally.
