Foundation awards scholarship to three students in kwara

A Non Governmental charitable foundation ” Professor Aaron Gana Foundation  has presented three students of the Apostolic Church Secondary School Patigi in Kwara state with scholarship award.

The beneficiaries of the scholarship are Fadele Isreal, Lydia Ishola
and Ishola Johnson.

The foundation was established in honour of late Professor Aaron Gana, a political scientist scholar and one of Nigerian renowned Scholars recognised both locally and internationally

Fadele Isreal and Lydia Ishola will be sponsored from JSS 2 to JSS 3, while Ishola Johnson will enjoy scholarship from SSS 1 to SSS 3.

The awardees are exceptional students whose parents are unable to pay their fees. For Lydia Johnson and Fadele Israel, they will continue to enjoy the scholarship to SSS 3 upon the success of their junior WAEC.

The Father of Ishola, for instance, is a Grade II teacher, retired without pension and is a native of Igbetti in Oyo state but settled in Patigi, while the father of Fadele is the son of the pioneer of the school but also unable to meet up with the financial obligation of sending the boy to school.

In the case of Lydia, after attending school for a whole year without paying fees, she was withdrawn from TAC, until help came her way through Aron Gana Foundation and she was readmitted to her former school.

The award was presented to the students, by Dr Paul Egun, who presented a check of three hundred and forty three thousand three hundred on behalf of the foundation.

Speaking on the occasion, which held at the foundation office in Abuja, Dr Paul Egun stated that the award was given to the students in recognition of their financial crises, without which their pursuit of education will be difficult.
He advised the student to work hard and come up with excellent result,that will be their way of showing appreciation.

Professor Aaron Gana, a political scientist was born in Patigi Kwara
State, married to his wife Joana Ebun Gana. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, University of Jos, University of pittsburgh, colombia University, newyork,.

He Lectured at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, University of Jos,were he served as Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences.
City university New York,University of Ohklahoma among others.
Upon his retirement from the University of Jos in 1996, he founded African Centre for Democratic Governance.
He was also the pioneer Vice Chancellor, Bingham University Karu Nasarawa State.
