The National President, Share Descendants Union(SDU), Elder Gabriel Jiomh has called on indigenes of Share community to remain united and shun divisive tendencies for the common goal of the community as the 2019 general elections approach.
Elder Jimoh who gave the advice when he delivered his remarks at an inaugural meeting of the union held in Ilorin.
He urged all sons and daughters of the community to place Share interest above any other parochial interest.
He enjoined the youths not to allow themselves to be used by any politician to achieve selfish interest, but advised them to do politics with moderation by adhere strictly to the rules of the game.
He stressed the need for the sons and daughters of Share to be patriotic and refrain from politics of hatred and bitterness, saying that the project Nigeria, Kwara and indeed Share should be paramount to everyone.
According to him, “Share, our community should be our interests not politics. We should be concerned on how to facilitate government’s presence to our father land. All members of the new executive should also endeavour to maintain political neutrality”.
Elder Jimoh therefore, called on politicians not to heat up the polity unnecessarily but encourage them to run an issues-based campaign throughout their campaign programme in order to ensure an hitch-free transition.
The National President also advised the electoral umpire not to be biased but adopt best practices in conducting free, fair, credible and generally accepted election in the interest of all and sundry.
