It was a celebration galore at the ancient town of Omu-Aran, the Headquarters of Irepodun local government area of kwara state at the weekend when the new Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti was installed as the 27th Olomu of Omu-Aran.
The palace premises, where the event took place as spacious as it is, was filled to the brim as indigens of the town in their different groups and associations were gaily dressed and singing various songs of appreciation to God for giving the town not just a new Oba but the people’s choice.
The physical presense of some government officials, traditiinal rulers, various professional bodies including friends and lovers of the new Oba joyfully added glitz and glamour to the well attended coronation ceremony.
The new Olomu, who was visibly cheerful, was full of praises and adorations to God and people of the community including other personalities who eminently graced the occasion with their presence.
Giving his inaugural speech on the occasion, Oba Adeoti hit the ground running by unveiling his plans to make Omu-Aran a sight to behold in the comity of towns in kwara state.
Oba Abdulraheem Adeoti, who is a thorough bred town planner by profession, sought for effective synergy between and possible collaboration with Kwara state government and private organisations in the areas of production of Master Plan for Omu-Aran to enable the community meet up with the objectives of the new urban agenda.
The Mornach also called for the upgrading of the single lane road that bisects the Omu-Aran town; upgrading of Omu-Aran General Hospital and upgrading of present central Market and Latinwo Market to ultra modern markets.
Other areas of collaboration according to His Royal Highness included provision of Border Market to ehance the economic development of the neighbouring border states, provison of an Industrial Park to serve Kwara,Kogi,Ekiti and Osun axis, and upgrading of Fire Service Station to effectively serve Omu-Aran and other sttlements within the sub-region.
The Olomu thanked the state government for earmarking 400 Housing Units to Omu-Aran out of the 5,000 Units allocated to kwara state by the World/Africa Nations Development Programm of Mass Housing Scheme, saying that it will be highly appreciated if the state government vigorously pursues the implementation of the scheme to make it come to fruition.
“Omu-Aran as a peace-loving and progressive community will continue to support the state Government in her efforts tobdevelop the state socio-pilitically and economically” he pledged
Oba Adeoti appealed to all compounds to cooperate with one another in fostering unity for the development of the community.
“The need to be willing to donate land for developmental projects should be seen as a task that must be constantly be fulfilled.
I sincerely urge all professionals, particularlly those in the building industry, to be prepared to render selfless services to the community as the community will not stop harnessing its potentials for develipmental purposes” he added.
The monarch particularlly thanked Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for his ever-ready disposition to address all issues relating to chieftancy affairs in the state.
Oba Adeoti thanked God for spearing his life to ascend the throne of his forefathers and appreciated the entire people of Omu-Aran for selecting him as the ruler of the community.
He however aknowledged all the past Olomus including his immediate predecessor, Oba Chalse Oladele Ibitoye who joined his ancestors on November 30, 2017.
