A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Barrister Ahmed Mustapha Akanbi (AMA) on Thursday (August 23, 2018) organised a get-tgether for members of his party across the 16 local government areas of the state as a way of showing love and affection to his teeming supporters.
The gathering which held at the Africa Hall of Mustapha Akanbi Foundation, Onikanga street, G. R. A, Ilorin, featured the presence of some eminent personalities and teeming party supporters, friends and loyalists as food and drinks were served liberaly.
Speaking on the rationale behind the get-together, the governorship aspirant, said the idea was to create an avenue for meriment and festivity for people of the state in the spirit of the Eld-el-Kabir festival.
He explained that the get together was also targeted at rolling out his lofty plans for Kwarans if his ambition to become the Kwara state governor come 2019 is fulfilled.
Akanbi urged those present at the feast to cary the good message to their people in their respective local government areas of the state, just as he pledged to evolve policies and programmes that will raise the living standards of all the residents in the state if elected as the state governor.
He however used the forum to appeal to those Nigerians and kwarans in particular that are yet to get their Pamanent Voters Card (PVC) to as a matter of priority endeavour to get registered, saying that PVC is the only potent ticket that can afford them the opportunity to elect candidate of their choice both at Federal and state levels.
Akanbi called on Muslim faithfuls and non Muslims in Nigeria to continue to live in peace and show love to one another as exemplifies in the teachings and lessons of the Eid-el-Adha festival.
Some stakeholders in their separate comments on the occasion, threw their weights behind the success of Akanbi, describing his candidacy as a step in a right direction.
