What Kwara Perm Sec did to villagers will amaze you

The Caring Hearts, an Ilorin based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) founded and chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Kwara  State Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Alhaji Amosa Isiaka Al-amin has provided free medical services for the people of Agbeyangi community in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The NGO also dolled out mattresses, pillows and an undisclosed amount of money to two selected aged man and woman of the community, Mallam Kawu Goga and Mrs. Hawau Ayuba, who are apparently in need of the gesture.

Other items donated to the people of Agbeyangi on Sunday (January 24, 2018) were free drugs, noodles for the children, toiletries as well as free medical tests and health talks that were presented by various health personnel which included Medical Doctors, Nurses, Environmental Health Officers, Medical laboratory personnel among others.

Speaking at the well attended gathering held at Agbeyangi Central Mosque, the initiator of the programme who doubles as the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Alhaji Amosa Isiaka Al-amin explained that the rationale behind the annual free medical services and other related humanitarian services was to commemorate the death day of his late father who incidentally is exactly forty years old this year that he has transited to the great beyond.

Al-amin noted that he had since been organizing the programme annually in his honour in Ilorin for several years ago but decided to move the train of the gesture to the grass root this year to afford the rural dwellers ample opportunity of benefitting from programmes of his Caring Hearts.

He commended the people of the community for trooping out in large number for the programme, just as he assured them that the benefit derivable from the health talks, and other free health services are enormous and manifold.

In her address at the occasion, the wife of the Ilorin East Local Government Chairman, Dr (Mrs.) Fatima Lar appreciated the organiser of the programme for deeming it fit to touch lives of people positively through charity initiative and described the programme as a step in a right direction.

The council’s first lady who is also a medical Doctor advised the residents of Agbeyangi to take their health very seriously and avail themselves with a golden opportunity that was brought to their doorsteps by ensuring that they keep themselves and their environment tidy at all times, reminding them that prevention is better than cure.

Also speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chairman of Ilorin East local government, who incidentally is an indigene of Agbeyangi community, Honourable Taiye Abdulrahaman commended the permanent secretary for the choice of Agbeyangi, saying that the people of his community would continue to remember the donor for this all important programme.

The Alangua of Agbeyangi, and Chief Imam of the community, Alhaji Aliu Baba and Alhaji Adebayo Muhammad respectively were full of appreciation even as they prayed God to lead the initiator of the project through in his both private and official assignments and grant his late father under whose name the programme was organised al-janatul-l-fridaus.
