KWASU VC rejoices with Governor AbdulRazaq’s mum @ 90

The Vice-Chancellor of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN, has congratulated Alhaja Raliat Amope Abdulrazaq, the mother of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on the occasion of her 90th birthday anniversary on earth.

Professor Akanbi described the nonagenarian as a true mother, grand mother and great grandmother of inestimable value who has always contributed immensely to the progress and development of the society.

The Vice-Chancellor particularly apreciated the celebrant, Alhaja AbdulRazaq who is the wife of the redoubtable and distinguished Alhaji A.G.F AbdulRazaq -first lawyer of northern Nigeria extraction, one time chairman of the Body of Benchers, 1st Mutawali of Ilorin and Tafidan Zaria – for being a supportive companion to her husband and an exemplary mother to our amiable and hardworking Governor that we are all proud of.

“It is a thing of joy to us that mama has been contributing tremendously to the society ever since decades ago. She is the first female councilor in Kwara State and a Council member of the defunct Ilorin Local Government as well as co-founder of the first private secondary school in Ilorin – “Ilorin College”, now Government High School, Adeta, Ilorin”

“There is no doubt in our minds that our mother, Alhaja AbdulRazaq, who speaks English, Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo languages fluently, has written her name in the sands of time, our mother has recorded notable and spectacular contributions that will forever remain indelible in Kwara state and indeed Nigeria” Professor Akanbi added.

The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the KWASU Governing Council, management, staff and students, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the celebrant and wished her joy, happiness and good health as she joins the nonagenarian club.
