The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kwara State Chapter, has given kudos to the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq, for providing women Journalists in the state with relief materials to serve as palliatives in the face of the current lockdown.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Chairperson of the association, Mrs Ayobola Olupinla, and made available to the newsmen in the state.
The statement particularly thanked His Excellence, Governor AbdulRazaq for taking proactive measures in this critical period by providing succour to the people across the state to mitigate the effect of the stay-at-home directive occasioned by the lingering outbreak of coronavirus.
The association described the government palliatives as very timely, helpful and supportive for the women Journalists in the state at this trying period of our national life.
” This kind of gesture could not have come at a better time than now when the residents of the state, particularly the less privileged are battling with incidence of covid 19 with its attendant problem on socio-economic life of the people ” the statement said.
The statement however advised Kwarans to be very conscious and abide by all instructions of health personnel especially on social distance and use of face masks including hygienic practice so as to remain safe from the grip of this contagious disease.
The NAWOJ also appealed to the residents to comply with government’s directive on the lockdown and other related measures, saying that the idea was in the best interest of all and sundry.
