Muslims youth have been called upon to always be in the vanguard of propagating Islam through good conduct and exemplary characters as contained in the principles and teachings of Islam.
Dr (Mrs) Mulikat Ahmed of the Department of Science Education, Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin made the call on Monday in her lecture at the Federation of Muslims Women’s Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN)’s maiden Youth Da’awah Conference held at the association’s Secretariat, Fate road, Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
Dr Ahmed, who spoke on the theme “Roles of Youths in Da’awah” said the best way to call people into Islam is by showing good examples and good public relations with everybody irrespective of religious and ethnic differences.
She explained that maintaining good human relationship is a potent driver of people into one’s phylosophy of life, pointing out that he who cares about the affairs of others, will be cared for by others around him or her.
Dr Ahmed particularly advised the young Muslim Ladies who have attained marriageable age and those in school to allow Islamic morals reflect in their conducts, by dressing modestly in line with the dictate of Islam and not engaging in premarital sex.
She urged them to discard the unholy habit of having boy friends but wait for their time and select from the well behaved and responsible men with whom they will live together as husband and wife.
Declaring the Conference open, Alhaja Raliat Sanni urged Muslim Ladies to always remember the daughters of whom they are and always comprt themselves orderly and religiously so as to be pride of Islam and good ambassadors of FOMWAN.
In their separate goodwill messages, Alhaja M. A. K. Oniyangi; Alhaja Muslimah Kamal, and Alhaja Hamdalat Ijaiya admonished school age girls in Islam to face their study sqarely, be focused, avoid adultery and always dress as responsible Muslim sisters.
In her welcome address, the state FOMWAN Amira, Hajia Maimuna Shehu said the conference was aimed at inculcating Islamic moral values in the Muslim young ladies using camping programme as a good platform.
In her vote of thanks, Dr (Mrs) Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi of Department of Mass Communication, University of Ilorin appreciated all invited guests including some FOMWAN founding members for adding value to the event through their physical presence.
Also in attendance include Hajia Biliqeea Oladimeji, Hajia Labaika and some former state Amira, among others.
