BAGYUM holds Inter-Wards soccer, tennis competitions

The Balogun Gambari Youth Movement (BAGYUM) on Sunday began maiden edition of Inter-Wards Football Competition

The competition which was scheduled to hold between 10 and 17 of November, 2019 would feature players drawn from four political wards from Ilorin East local government area of Kwara state vis-a-vis Gambari ward I, Gambari ward II, Ibagun ward and Zango ward.

The soccer tournament, according to a statement signed by the President of BAGYUM, Mallam Sulaiman Olayinka Sakariyah, and made available to journalists in the state, was established to promote unity and harmonious relationship among the people of Gambari District of Ilorin East Local Government.

The kick off was performed by a lawmakers, representing Ilorin East Local Government at the state House of Assembly, Hon Ali jimoh held at Shamsudeen LGEA school, old Shao Garage, Ilorin.

The statement explained that the competition was open only for registered members within the four wards of the area, addede that matches commence at 4:30 pm every day at Shamsudeen LGEA school.

He said the organisation had since been organising annual football competition, saying that this inter-ward  competition was a maiden edition.

He however disclosed further that Table Tennis competition would commence on 13th of this month at Okesuna Primary School, Ilorin.

Meanwhile, Zango ward beat Gambari ward I 1-0 while Gambari ward II and Ibagun locked horns in a match that ended 7-1 in favour of Gambari II on the first day of the match (Sunday)
On second day, (Monday) Gambari ward 1 defeated Ibagun ward with 2 -1 while zango beat Gambari II 1-0. Other matches continue.
