JAMB tertiary institutions football tourney enters quarter-finals

The four quarter-final matches of the on-going Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) football competition will hold tomorrow Thursday, in two different centers.

Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi finished with nine maximum points from Group A, and will play University of Ilorin, which, after winning their first two games, lost the last game to Ekiti State University, Ado, at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara Stadium by 9.00am

Federal College of Education, Gombe also topped Group B, and will tackle Kwara State College of Education at the University of Ilorin pitch, also by 9.00am. Ekiti State University, Ado will square up with Kwara State University (KWASU) at the Main-Bowl by 11.00an, while Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria plays Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun state in the last quarter-final match at the University of Ilorin pitch, by 11.00am.

The semi-final matches holds on Friday, at the University of Ilorin pitch, while the final comes up Saturday.

16 teams started the race on Monday, with three institutions, Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, Niger State College of Education, Minna and Federal Polytechnic, Nekede disqualified from the competition for failing to fulfill registration requirements.
