KWSG warns Principals, Headteachers over Illegal PTA Charges

The Kwara State Government has again warned Principals and Headteachers on the need to adhere strictly with the approved PTA charges in schools across the state.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Mariam Ayodeji Garba disclosed this at the official declaration of the Proposed Kwara State School Calendar for 2019/2020 Academic Session held at the Conference hall of the Ministry.

Hajia Garba, in a statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Yakub K. Aliagan and made available to highPROFIE warned that anybody found wanting will face severe sanction in accordance with Civil Service rules and regulations.

She however revealed that the Kwara State Government had approved State School Calendar for the year 2019/2020 academic session, saying that the session would start as stipulated below:

First term academic session will commence on 16th September, 2019 and end on 13th December, 2019.

The Second term academic session will start from 6th January, 2020 and end on 9th April, 2020.

The Third term academic session will begin from 4th May, 2020 and end on 24th July, 2020 respectively.

Hajia Garba therefore enjoined parents and guardians to ensure their children and wards resume to school immediately as academic activities will commence on the day of resumption.

She also directed all Principals, Headteachers and Education Stakeholders to ensure the immediate commencement of academic activities in line with the set standard and the state benchmarks in education.

Hajia Garba wished parents and students a stress free academic programme.
