Cultural Heritage: Ooni to partner Share town, others in kwara

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Babatunde Eniitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has pledged to partner with Share kingdom in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara state in the areas of cultural heritage promotion, development of tourism and other related African core values.

Oba Ogunwusi made the pledge at the weekend when the high power delegation of the Olupako of Share, Oba Abubakar Dosumu, paid him a courtesy visit at his palace.

The ‘Highprofile’ reliably gathered that the delegation was led by the Aare Adimula of Share land, Alhaji Yakub Adeshina Laola Salashi, accompanied by the former Director of Advancement, University of Ilorin, Dr Jeleel Ojuade,; General Manager of UNILORIN FM, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris Alooma.

Other members of the delegate included Oba Oladiipo Arokoola Buremoh (a.k.a Ladi African Tiger) Onidera of Idera , Oba Elepe of Epe Opin Oba Joseph Ayeni among others.

The Ooni said he was ever ready to assist and work together with Saare town and kwara state in general for the enhancement African cultural values and promotion of tourism for the attainment of accelerated development.

The monarch added that his primary aim, as a Paramount ruler in the Yoruba Kingdom, is progress and development of all Yoruba towns and the entire black race in general.

Ooni, who was visibly happy with the presence of the scores of traditional rulers from kwara state in his palace, prayed for the development of Share, Idera, Epe Opin, and all Yoruba towns and Nigeria as a whole.

He also prayed for the peaceful conduct of the ongoing 2019 general elections in Nigeria.

Earlier in his remark, the Aare Adimula of Saare in kwara state, Alhaji Yakub Babatunde Akanbi Adesina (a.k.a Lahaola Salashi) thanked the Ooni for the warm reception and great hospitality he accorded his delegate.

Adesina underscored the significance of culture and tourism in national development and expressed readiness of the traditional rulers from kwara to give the two sectors utmost priority to boost the economy economy of Osun and Kwara states.

He caller on the public and private sectors join hands together to explore the sector to enable millions of youths in kwara state and Nigeria be gainfully engaged.
