A former National President of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Practitioners (ANTP), Alhaji Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), has been described as a pride to the people of Pakata and Ilorin Emirate at large.
This assertion was made by the President, “Pakata Patriots”, Ilorin, Mallam Shehu Ahmad Aliyu, in a congratulatory message sent to the renowned theatre practitioner who recently marked his 60th anniversary as a professional theatre practitioner.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary, of Pakata Patriots, Ilorin, Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed Orekan, and made available to the newsmen on Thursday, 3rd July 2025.
Mallam Aliyu, who is also a Chief Lecturer at the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, described Oga Bello as a patriot and role-model who has done quite well for his roots and for the nation through stimulating theatre practice in the last six decades.
The President noted that despite being born, raised and sojourning in Lagos, Oga Bello has never turned his back against Ilorin and its people, recalling that he has done quite well in promoting the good image of the Ilorin community starting from the adoption of his stage name.
The statement, while felicitating with the famous thespian on his remarkable professional career, urged other celebrities to emulate Oga Bello by not neglecting their roots.
Mallam Aliyu wished Oga Bello a long life, sound health and more successful career.
