…sympathises with Victims of Fire Outbreaks and Floods
The Hijrah Islamic Organization has issued a call to Muslims across the nation, urging them to observe the forthcoming Hijrah New Year and other Islamic festivals with utmost peace, harmony, and a profound sense of spiritual responsibility.
This call was part of the resolutions made during the organization’s general meeting held on Sunday, 2nd June 2025 (5th Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH), where members deliberated on national issues affecting the Muslim community.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the organization expressed disappointment over the persistent high cost of sacrificial rams despite repeated appeals to sellers to show compassion and reduce prices during the Eid season.
“It is disheartening that despite calls made for the sake of Allah and the welfare of the Ummah, ram sellers have continued to inflate prices, making it difficult for many Muslims to partake in this sacred rite,” the communiqué read.
The organization also extended its sympathy to victims of recent fire outbreaks in various parts of Nigeria. It prayed for divine protection and a swift recovery for those affected by the tragic incidents.
In a similar vein, the group offered its condolences to the people of Niger State, particularly the Mokwa community, who have been hit by recent flood disasters. It urged relevant authorities to intensify efforts in providing relief and long-term solutions.
Looking ahead to the Islamic New Year, the Hijrah Islamic Organization emphasized the need for Muslims to mark the Hijrah 1447 AH in a manner that reflects the values of peace, unity, and spiritual renewal.
“The Hijrah New Year is a time for reflection, renewal, and recommitment to the teachings of Islam. We urge Muslims to uphold harmony and brotherhood as they mark this sacred occasion,” the communiqué concluded.
The meeting reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to promoting Islamic values, supporting the needy, and contributing to national stability through prayerful and responsible engagement.
