.. beneficiaries get cash, PoS machines, iPads
No fewer than 175 people comprising youths and women in Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency of Kwara State have received empowerment materials worth millions of naira.
The empowerment items were doled out courtesy of a member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Dr Ahmed Adamu Saba after a three-day training on entrepreneurship for the beneficiaries.
The programme held at Tsaragi, Edu Local Government Area of the state, focused on entrepreneurship training and was anchored by the National Productivity Centre (NPC) in conjunction with BNP Resources Limited.
At the event, each of the beneficiaries received iPads, Point of Sales (POS) machines, and N50,000 cash grantl to enable set up their businesses.
Dr Saba, who spoke during the presentation of the empowerment items, said the initiative was aimed at promoting economic growth, skill development, and improved livelihoods among the beneficiaries.
He identified the initiative as a strategic effort to drive economic empowerment, promote self-reliance, and alleviate the impact of the high cost of living in Nigeria.
Saba also noted that the initiative targeted youths and women across the three local government areas of the federal constituency, adding that it was part of his ongoing commitment to enhancing human capital development and fostering sustainable livelihoods within the constituency.
According to the legislator, the empowerment programme was designed to engage 175 participants in activities aimed at cultivating a strong entrepreneurial mindset, offering practical skills on Digital Transformation, and encouraging long-term economic independence.
He explained that the programme demonstrated his commitment to the development of his constituency and the well being of the people.
“This investment in the youth and women of the constituency reflects my unwavering commitment to sustainable development, growth, and prosperity for all”, Saba noted.
Dignitaries at the event included Dr Kolo Baba Jiya (Haske Patigi), member of the Kwara State House Of Assembly representing Edu Constituency, Hon. Saba Yisa Gideon and others.

The Special Assistant on Digital Media to the legislator, Liman Hamidu Bello, said his principal’s empowerment programme aligned with his vision of “representation, legislative advancement, executive oversight, and constituency outreach”.
He noted that the training was successfully concluded, with participants gaining hands-on experience and practical knowledge.
Bello said upon completion, each participant received a certificate, iPad, POS machine and a N50,000 startup grant to launch their businesses, ensuring they had the financial backing needed for success.
