…Prioritizes Transparency

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has suspended activities related to the allocation of Hajj seats to the Private Tour Operators (PTO) for the next 48 hours.
This was contained in a press release signed by the Assistant Director, Public Affairs, NAHCON, Fatima Sanda Usara.
“This decision comes in light of recent accusations leveled by some PTOs who were unable to meet the required pass mark.”
NAHCON in collaboration with the ministry of Hajj and Umrah had set parameters to choose the best PTO on a scale of 40 highest scores.
According to the statement, the list of successful PTOs was released by the commission with the assurance to oversee formation of amicable alliances with the remaining 70.
In view of the dissenting voice from some PTOs, NAHCON helsman, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi announced that members with Legitimate grievances pertaining to the qualification of any your operator are encouraged to present well-documented facts and figures supporting their claims.

The NAHCON assured that extensive investigation will be carried out on any petition and if the accusations are substantiated and found to be true, necessary action will be taken to rectify the situation.
It however warned that any frivolous and baseless allegations will be met with serious consequences.
“This measure is essential to maintain the integrity of the selection process and to protect the reputation of both the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria and the Private tour Operators involved.
The commission assured that the 48 hours suspension of activities is a temporary measure aimed at ensuring the sanctity of the process and that NAHCON remains committed to facilitating a fair and transparent pilgrimage experience for all Nigerian Muslims.
