Osun State chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has suspended the chairman of the party, Alhaji Yunus Akanni Gbadamosi following allegations of gross misconduct.
To this end, the party has ratified the appointment of Hon. Ayobami Ajibade as the acting chairman of the party.
Hon Ajibade was until his appointment the Deputy Chairman of the party in the state and his new appointment takes immediate effect.
The party, in a statement issued by its state secretary, Ms Yinka Oni said the State executives of the party took the decision due to series of allegations leveled against the former chairman of the party which bothers on anti party, corruption and financial recklessness among others.
The party noted that the outcome of the investigations of various allegations of gross misconduct against Alhaji Yunus Akanni Gbadamosi as the Party Chairman prompted the state executives to pass a Vote of No Confidence on him, after he had been found guilty of acts of indiscipline, and subsequently suspended him in line with the party’s constitution.
The statement reads “the State Executive Committee has already forwarded the report of the development to the national headquarters for further necessary actions.
“In view of this development, the general public, including concerned and recognized government agencies such as INEC, IPAC, Nigerian Police Force, DSS, NSCDC,and others are hereby notified, and advised not to transact any business of the SDP with Alhaji Yunus Akanni Gbadamosi henceforth,” the statement added.
