A Member representing Ilorin South/Ilorin East Federal Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Yinka Aluko has applauded the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for providing relief to the victims of the recent rainstorm that destroyed several houses across Ilorin, the state capital.
In a statement released by the lawmaker, Aluko expressed gratitude to the Governor and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) on behalf of his constituents.
He revealed that upon getting the distress call from his constituents in the wake of the disaster which resulted in the displacement of roofs from numerous buildings across the state, he conducted an on-site inspection of the affected houses in the area.
Aluko added that the extent of the damages proved to be too extensive for him alone to address immediately, but forwarded the report of the damages in Ilorin South and was subsequently submitted to the Secretary to the State government.
The lawmaker noted that the State Governor upon receipt of the report instructed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to analyze the data and provide appropriate relief materials to the affected communities.
Aluko further revealed that, “The relief materials designated for Ilorin South were delivered to his office and he promptly assigned the coordination of their distribution to two of my aides, Hon. Lekan KawuKano and Hon. Abdullahi Galadima, based on the compiled inspection data.
“These relief items include 150 bundles of roof sheets, as well as sacks of nails and other necessary accessories.” the Lawmaker added.
While extolling the Governor for his responsiveness to the plight of the people urged “the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the provided materials and extend heartfelt wishes for more blessings from Allah”.
