Prof. Mohammed emerges Federal Staff College PTA Chair


Professor Abubakar-Siddiq  Mohammed (Afunku)  of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has emerged as the new Chairman of the  Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the Federal Staff College, Adewole, Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

The election took place on Thursday (May 26, 2022) at the school premises, Adewole area, Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.


Other members of the new executives that will run the affairs of the school PTA for the next two years include Alhaji AbdulAzeez Sharafdeen as the Vice Chairman; Mr Ola Agboola as the Secretary; Miss T. O. Balogun as the Assistant Secretary; while the position of Treasure went to Mrs K. S. Abdullahi.

Other members of the executives are Mrs Usman Sefiyat Bamidele as the Financial Secretary; just as the positions of Public Relations Officers (PRO) and Auditor went to Mrs. Suleiman-Saad Salmat and Mr Saka A. Abdullahi respectively.


Meanwhile, the school management had earlier selected three people to fill three positions which are secretary, assistant secretary and financial secretary. Only five excos came in through election while the three came through selection.


In his acceptance speech, Professor Mohammed described his assignment as a call to duty and gave assurance that the new executives under his leadership would lead up to expectation.


He thanked the management of the school for providing platform for election to hold and commended the leadership of the college for their foresight and forthright.


The new PTA chairman particularly appreciated parents for electing him as the chairman and pledged, on behalf of other executive members, to justify the confidence reposed in them.


He promised that the college, during his tenure,  would witness more transformation in terms of sound academic performance and state-of-the-art facilities.


According to him, we will not disappoint you, we are going to do our best to add more value to this college in the interest of the school authority, school management, staff, students, parents and the general public.

In her address, the chairman of the occasion, Mrs Adedokun reeled off various developmental programmes being embarked upon by the authority of the Federal Staff College, promising that they would not relent in their efforts in sustaining the standard of the school and as well attach utmost priority to the welfare of the staff.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Principal of the College, Mrs Biolla Biodun Olugbemi said the meeting was called to herald the coming of the new PTA executives and to discuss salient issues bothering on growth and development of the college which will ultimately translate to sound academic performance of the students.

Mrs Olugbemi thanked the parents and guardians for turning up in large number to attend the meeting in spite of the short notice, saying that the impressive turn out is an indication of the love and belief the parents have on the college.
