The National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi, has applauded the appointment of Comrade Issa Obalowu Aremu mni, as the Director-General, Micheal Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies, Ilorin.
Alhaji Uthman, in a statement signed by the Union’s Spokesman, Abubakar Imam, described the appointment of Comrade Aremu as a round peg in a round hole and one that is capable of transforming the Institute to a world class citadel of learning.
Alhaji Uthman said that the appointment was very thoughtful and impeccable considering the intimidating credentials and exciting track records of Comrade Aremu.
Alhaji Uthman, who described Comrade Aremu as one of the most accomplished Trade Unionists in contemporary Nigeria, said that the Union is particularly happy with the appointment as the new Director-General is one of the most outstanding alumni of the first secondary school established by the Ilorin Emirate community.
The IEDPU President urged Comrade Aremu to see his appointment as a challenge to his struggle for the emancipation of workers over the years as he said that the former Deputy President of the Nigerian Labour Congress(NLC) cannot afford to fail most especially in a familiar terrain.
Alhaji Uthman,while urging staff and other stakeholders of the Institute to accord Comrade Aremu all the necessary support he needed to succeed, encouraged the new Director-General to bring his wealth of experience to bear towards ensuring that the essence of the establishment of the Institute is achieved.
The statement wished Comrade Aremu a very peaceful and rewarding tenure of office.
