NUJ hails Issa Aremu’s reappointment as MINILS’s DG

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council has congratulated Comrade Issa Obalowu Aremu, mni, on his reappointment as the Director-General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin.

In a joint statement signed by the Council Chairman, Ahmed ‘Lanre Abdullateef, and the Secretary, Mahmood Olayinka Alaya, the Union described Aremu’s reappointment as a “well-deserved recognition of outstanding leadership and transformative achievements” during his first tenure.

The NUJ applauded the federal government for entrusting the foremost labour leader with another term of office, noting that his reappointment reflects the administration’s confidence in his vision, dedication, and deep-rooted commitment to labour education and development in the country.

“Comrade Aremu’s leadership at MINILS has brought renewed visibility, innovation, and relevance to the institute’s mandate of promoting labour education through which workers’ rights could be advanced. His reappointment is a testament to his impactful service and the trust he commands within the labour community and beyond,” the statement said.

The Union also praised Aremu’s longstanding contributions to the labour movement in Nigeria, recalling his decades of service as a respected trade unionist, educator, and policy advocate.

While praying for continued wisdom, strength, and success for the Director-General in his second coming, the NUJ pledged the unwavering support of journalists in Kwara State to amplify the institute’s programmes and promote the ideals of decent work, fair labour practices, and industrial harmony.
