The National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, has commended the Director-General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies,Ilorin, Comrade Issa Obalowu Aremu, mni, for repositioning the Institute for better service delivery since he resumed office in 2021
Alhaji Abdulmalik gave this commendation on Friday (May 9, 2025) when he led a delegation of the Union’s National Executive Council on a working visit to the Institute.

The President said that the Union was impressed with the increasing capacities of the Institute since the renowned labour leader assumed its leadership.
Alhaji Abdulmalik, who commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for trusting Comrade Issa AREMU mni with the position, encouraged the Director-General, management and staff of the premier National Institute to continue with the good work of repositioning the Institute to greater height within the context of Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking earlier through a representative , Comrade Issa Aremu said that the Institute has become a toast of all going by its improved training calendar, national and international linkages, youth entrepreneurship mass training and empowerment, increasing visibility and capacity to provide high quality training for the nation’s workforce more than ever before since its establishment by the administration of President Shehu Shagari in 1983.
Comrade Aremu, who was represented by the Institute’s Accountant, Alhaji Moshood Abolore thanked the President and members of IEDPU for the visit as he called for more synergy between the Institute and the Union for partnership that will benefit the host Emirate community and Nigeria as a whole.
The President was accompanied on the visit by the Union’s National Vice President, Alhaji AbdulRauf Babatunde Issa; the National Treasurer, Alhaji Usman Toyin Salman; and the National Auditor, Alhaji Adam Hanafi Alabere, among others.
