The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has condoled with the Olofa of Offa, His Royal Majesty Oba Mufutau Mohammed Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, over the death of his mother, Alhaja Hawawu Awele Gbadamosi. Alhaja Gbadamosi died on Saturday at the ripe age of 94.
Prof. Egbewole, in a statement issued by the University Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, described the late Alhaja Gbadamosi as a great and virtuous woman who devoted her life to the services of God and humanity.
The Vice Chancellor remarked that the death of Alhaja Gbadamosi is not just a loss to the frontline monarch but also a loss to the entire Offa Kingdom and humanity at large, considering what she represented during her lifetime.
Prof. Egbewole urged the Olofa and the Offa community to take solace in the fact that Alhaja Gbadamosi lived a fulfilled life going by the calibre of children and other individuals she raised.
The Vice Chancellor prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul in Aljanat Fridaouz as he also prayed Allah to grant the Olofa and other bereaved individuals the fortitude to bear her death.
