Kwara Receives 25,000 bags of Rice from Dangote Foundation

…As Foundation targets distribution of N16b worth of rice

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has flagged off the distribution of 25,000 bags of rice donated by the Aliko Dangote Foundation to support vulnerable communities across the state’s 16 local government areas of the state. 

The donation, which came at a crucial time during Ramadan and Lent, aims to provide relief to those in need.

The governor commended the Aliko Dangote Foundation for its kind and selfless contribution, highlighting the importance of corporate social responsibility and philanthropy in addressing poverty and hardship. 

Governor Abdulrazaq,  who spoke through his Deputy at the flag-off ceremony, Elder Kayode Alabi, also encouraged other individuals and corporations to follow in the footsteps of the Dangote Foundation so as to collectively put smiles on the faces of commoners.

He praised the Dangote Foundation’s philanthropic efforts, noting that the donation would provide significant relief to vulnerable communities.

The Aliko Dangote Foundation’s donation is part of its nationwide food intervention program, which aims to distribute one million bags of rice worth ₦16 billion across Nigeria. 

In Kwara State, the distribution will be carried out in partnership with the state government.
