The women in academics at Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, gathered at the E-Phoenix Hotel in Ilorin to celebrate Professor Olubukola Christianah Dada’s appointment as the University’s Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic.
The event, which held on Friday (August 16, 2924) chaired by the Vice Chancellor Professor Shaykh Luqman Jimoh, was a grand celebration to honor Professor Dada’s elevation to the esteemed position.

In her address, the Chairman of the KWASU Women Academics, Professor Binta Sulyman expressed gratitude to God and the Vice Chancellor, for considering one of their own for the role.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor Professor Jimoh described Professor Dada as a diligent, hardworking, and dedicated lecturer who has made the university proud, saying that her appointment was a step in the right direction.
Appreciating the organisers, Professor Dada thanked the women in academics for the recognition and celebration, pledging to continue doing more.
“The celebrant’s spouse, Reverend Dada, fondly described his wife as a loving and caring individual who expertly balanced her professional responsibilities with her duties as a wife, never allowing one to compromise the other.
The event was attended by top university officials, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Professor Mashood Mahmood Jimba; the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo W. Sallee; the University Bursar, Mallam Muhammed Abubakar Sanni; the University Librarian, Prof. Salman Abiodun Abdulsalam; Director Strategic Planning, Prof. Musbau Akanji among others.
The celebrant’s virtues were extolled by all speakers, describing her appointment as a perfect fit. The event featured a lavish spread of food and drinks, with attendees enjoying themselves in celebration of Professor Dada’s achievement.
