Justice Asmau Akanbi Advised to Emulate Father’s Legacy

The Honorable Justice Asmau Ojuolape Tanwa Akanbi, recently appointed to the Appeal Court, has been urged to follow in the footsteps of her late father, late Honorable Justice Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi CFR. 

The advice was given by Dr. Yusuf Kolawole Jummah during a special prayer session held in her honour at the Adewole residence of Prof. Yusuf Olaolu Ali SAN in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Dr. Jummah described the late Justice Akanbi as an incorruptible judge who embodied dignity, integrity, and fear of God. 

He expressed confidence that Justice Akanbi would uphold her father’s standards, given her impressive record in the High Court before her elevation to the Appeal Court.

Also speaking shortly after the prayer session, Prof. Is’haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, JAMB Registrar, congratulated Justice Akanbi on her promotion and prayed for God’s guidance in her future endeavors. 

He praised Justice Akanbi’s parents, late Justice M. M. Akanbi and Hajia Munfa’at Aduke Akanbi, as loving and caring individuals who had a profound impact on their children and community.

Also, the Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Shaykh Luqman Jimoh, prayed for Allah to grant Justice Asmau Akanbi a hitch-free and successful legal career, mirroring the excellence of her late father.

The event was attended by prominent figures from across the state and beyond, which include the founder of Olanrewaju Hospital, Ilorin,  Dr Olanrewaju; the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole; former CMD University of Ilorin Twaching Hospital (UITH), Dr Sulaiman Kuranga; the NBA Ntional Secretary-elect, Barrister Idris Mobaloji Ojibara; Lawyer Alarape Salman SAN; Lawyer Saka Yisau SAN; among others.
