Justice Akanbi’s legacies linger as Ma-Assalam Islamic Foundation sustains Ramadan Da’wah visitation

The Baale of Ago-Oja in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State, Alhaji Daud Salahudeen Arolu has extolled the virtues of late Justice Mustapha Akanbi, describing him as a man of positive identity who had contributed immensely to the service to God and humanity.

Alhaji Daud disclosed this on Saturday (March 23, 2024) in his  comment while receiving members of Ma-Assalam Islamic Foundation (MIF) who were in the community for the annual Ramadan Da’wah visitation.

The community head, who acknowledged that late Justice Akanbi had been leading the team to Ago-Oja for Da’wah visitation during his lifetime,  expressed joy that such rewarding act of Ibadah continues even after his demise.

According to him, the continuation of the village outreach with donation of food stuff to the visiting communities, will serve as a continous reward (sadaqotu jariya) for him in the hereafter. 

He however commiserated with the Akanbi family over the painful passing on of the late KWASU Vice Chancellor,  Prof Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN and late Alhaji AbdulAkeem Akanbi, and prayed God to be pleased with their souls and grant them Aljanat Firdaus. 

In his lecture, Sheikh Muktar Oloyin enjoined Muslim faithfuls to attach utmost attention and seriousness to Solat and do away from any form distraction while offering solat.

Sheikh Muktar particularly identified mobile phone, also known as ‘handset’ as a major distraction from solat, warning that Allah will not accept any Solat without utmost attention.

Earlier in his address,  the MIF Coordinator, Sheikh Ally Jibril Toyin, explained that MIF was established by late Justice Mustapha Akanbi in 2009 to spread the teachings of Islam and provide financial supports to individuals,  organisations and communities.

He disclosed that MIF is an offshoot of Mustapha Akanbi Foundation (MAF)

In his comment, Sheikh Muhammad Jamiu Al-Agowy, appreciated members of MIF for not resting on their oars even after the death of the founder, and wished them a resounding success in all their endeavours. 

Also speaking, the Jagunmolu of Ago-Oja,  Alhaji Muhammed Babatunde Yusuf, thanked MIF members for considering Ago-Oja worthy of visiting for their Da’wah and gesture, saying that the community would continue to remember late Justice Akanbi for his great impacts in the community.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of food stuff to the host community.
