UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital appreciates hardworking staff, wards

The Chief Medical Director of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Prof Peter Olaitan has admonished all staff of the hospital to always bring out their best while rendering services to patients and their relations.

By doing this, the Chief Medical Director said they will create a friendly environment in the hospital and display professionalism.

Prof. Olaitan gave the admonition while presenting awards to the best staff and best wards for the year 2023 during the February edition of Grand Round.

He said the management of the hospital will continue to do everything possible to make the hospital friendly for staff, patients and patient relations.

Earlier in his lecture titled “Relating well with patients and relations with the view to preventing work based violence” Prof. Olusola Oyedeji, a consultant Paediatrician highlighted difficult times in Nigeria, poor Communication, poor service, long waiting time, Health worker insensitivity, patient’s demise and many others as factors that can create work based violence.

He said all these can be averted through good attitudes to service delivery, good communication skills, politeness to patients and showing Empathy.

A statement released by the Head of Corporate Affairs of the hospital, Christie Oyewole gave the names of the awardees as Dr. Adeolu Odugbemi of Family Medicine department (best staff of the year, Mrs.Temitayo Adedapo of Works and Maintenance department and Mrs. Odunola Adebayo of kitchen department as second and third best staff respectively, while Labour Ward, Burns Ward and SCBU received commendations as first, second and third wards respectively for cleanliness.

The programme was well attended by members of the management team and Staff of the hospital.
