Save Our son from attack, family of Osun College Provost appeal to Police

The family of the Provost of Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun, Prof. Jimoh Atanda Afolabi has appealed to the state police command to save the life of their son, Prof Afolabi as his life is currently under threat.

The family, in a Save Our Soul message to the state Commissioner of Police, alleged that the life of Prof Afolabi is under threat.

This, the family alleged might not be unconnected with the crisis rocking the state college of Education, Ila-Orangun, where the chairman of the institution’s governing council, Mr Peter Babalola was alleged of financial misappropriation.

The Afolabi’s family called on the Commissioner of Police to provide necessary security for Afolabi to prevent him from unwarranted attack.

Also, the family called on the state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke to call the Chairman of the institution’s governing council, Mr Babalola to order over his alleged abuse of office.

Meanwhile, it was alleged that Babalola now moves around the campus of the institution with mobile police officers in an attempt to create fear in the minds of staff and students of the institution.

It was also alleged that Babalola is using the Mobile police officers to cause unnecessary apprehension in the college as against the practice in other tertiary institutions in the state.

“The pertinent question agitating the mind of the citizens of the State, is that under what capacity could two mobile police officers be attached to Babalola among other chairmen of the governing board in the state owned tertiary institutions,” the stakeholders queried.

The stakeholders of the college have therefore called on the state Commissioner of Police to withdraw the mobile police officers attached to Babalola.
