Intervene in Osun College of Education crisis, group tells Adeleke

A non Political group, the Osun Concerned Forum has condemned recent activities at the Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun where the chairman, governing council of the institution, Mr Peter Babalola was fingered in some financial atrocities and misappropriation in the institution.

The group also gathered that Babalola is orchestrating the suspension of the Provost of the college, Prof Jimoh Atanda Afolabi to cover up his financial recklessness.

The group noted that suspending the Provost of the college by the governing council of the institution will be an illegal act and attempts to cover up by Babalola.

This followed the revelations made on Monday on the financial impropriety perpetrated by the chairman, governing council of the institution, Mr Peter Babalola where he was exposed to be involved in some illegal financial transactions between the college and some contractors.

The group therefore called on the state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke not to allow Babalola drag the reputation of the current administration into disrepute as he (Babalola) is mischievous and not loyal to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

It was alleged that the chairman of the institution’s Governing Council has in the recent time been fraternizing with some members of the PDP planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The group therefore called on the state government to intervene on the matter before it gets out of hands and protect the Provost of the college, Prof Jimoh Atanda Afolabi who has been building his career for decades.

The group also called on the state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke not to allow the provost to be unjustly dismissed by the council for fear of posterity and image of the the young administration as Babalola may be preparing grounds for his new party to discredit the present administration for campaign purpose.
