Kwara State Government has announced the modification of this month edition of Environmental Sanitation Exercise that will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023, a date that coincides with the Common Entrance Examination day in the state.
With this development, there will be vehicular movement during the period of the exercise so as not to obstruct the examination billed for that day in the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Press Secretary of the state Ministry of Environment, Mr Yakub Kamaldeen Aliagan and made available to the Highprofile.
“This is to inform members of the public that the modified sanitation exercise for this month will hold on Saturday, 26th August, 2023 from 7:00 am to 9:00 am.
“Residents of the State are hereby enjoined to fully participate in the sanitation exercise by cleaning both their residential and business environments.
“Members of the public are to note that there will be vehicular and human movement across the state due to the Common Entrance Examination (Placement Examination) that is going to hold on that day
“Waste management trucks will be on ground for waste collection and subsequent disposal to the dump site during the metropolis” the statement added.
The statement, however, warned members of the public not to dump refuse on the pedestrian walkways, road dividers, drainages, canals and all other unapproved dump sites, describing such act as an offence that is punishable under the law of the state.
