The Indonesian Government has disclosed that the country recorded 748 deaths during the just concluded 2023 Hajj exercise, the highest figure recorded since 2017.
The Minister of Religious Affairs, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas disclosed this while welcoming returning Hajj officers at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Thursday (August 3, 2023).
He explained that the number of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims that died during the 2023 hajj pilgrimage reached 748, adding that it was the highest figure recorded since 2017.
