Adimula becomes CITN Council member

Former Chairperson of International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Kwara State branch and a  Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies (CPSS), University of Ilorin, Dr (Mrs) Abiola Adimula, has emerged a Council Member of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).


Adimula, was elected into the prestigious position of the institute following her third position out of 15 contestants that locked horns for only four vacant seats in the CITN council.


Asimula, who is an Ilorin-based female lawyer and child rights advocate, clinched the third position after polling 1, 352 votes at the 2023 CITN council virtual election, featuring delegates from across the globe.


The Unilorin Don, who is of CITN Ilorin and District Society, is the first elected CITN council member from Ilorin wing of the institute.


Before her election into the CITN council, the Unilorin peace scholar was the National Chairperson of the Society of Women in Taxation between 2021 and 2023.


Adimula spearheaded regular Radio and Television interviews on taxation, schools tax debate, professional women engagement on taxation and career engagement of students between 2010 and 2021 when she served as Kwara State Coordinator of Society of Women in Taxation (SWIT).


The Unilorin CPSS senior lecturer, who is the immediate past National Chairperson of SWIT, increased the chapters of the society from nine States to 21 States within the two years of her leadership.


During her stint, SWIT was also taken to international level and inaugurated in Ghana, Senegal and The Republic of Benin through her deliberate efforts, which earned her the position of Pioneer Regional Chairperson of SWIT West Africa.
