…As NAHCON commends airliners over seamless operations
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has so far airlifted 25,587 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for this year Hajj exercise within 11 days of the commencement of airlifting.
The airlifting, which began on 26th of May 2023 with Nasarawa pilgrims, has recorded 61 flights as at the early hours of Monday, 5th June, 2023.
The whole exercise began with the inaugural flight on 21st of May 2023 in Abuja where the NAHCON Chairman, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan pledged that all arrangements had been made to airlift all Nigerian intendin pilgrims, with complete documents, to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2023 Hajj rituals.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna Zonal Coordinator of NAHCON, Alhaji Yusuf Balele Wali has expressed satisfaction with the cooperation, understanding and cordial working relationship, so far, with relevant bodies and agencies in the ongoing airlift of intending Nigerian pilgrims for this year’s Hajj.
Alhaji Wali disclosed this while speaking during the flag off of the airlift exercise in the Kaduna Zone, saying that both Kaduna pilgrims Agency and the contracted airliner, the Azman, have shown commitment to ensure smooth and hitch free airlift exercise.
The Zonal Coordinator hoped that the carrier will put its acts together to ensure zero delay in positioning an aircraft as and when due for swift evacuation.
He called on the pilgrims to be law abiding in both Nigeria and in the holy land, advising them to adhere strictly to all the rules that guide Hajj operations which they learnt during the training exercise.
The second flight from the Kaduna Zone is expected today Monday, 5th of June, 2023.
However, since the commencement of airlifting on 26th of May, the process has been very seamless while the pilgrims that have arrived Saudi Arabia so far are being accorded with great hospitality by NAHCON.
