Akire of Ikire-Ile in Ola-Oluwa Local Government Area of Osun State, Oba Abdulazeez Olatunbosun Adebamiji has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his inauguration as the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Also, the prominent traditional ruler congratulated the Vice president, Senator Kashim Shettima on his inauguration as the new Vice President.
He described the emergence of the duo as being marvelous in the eyes of all lovers of democracy.
“I give my deepest, heartfelt gratitudes to God for making this swearing-in happen successfully after Nigerians have spoken with their votes on the 25th February 2023.
“Your electoral victory has shown quite vividly that it is God that confers power on whoever He wishes. We pray to the Almighty God to imbue you and your Vice with the divine wisdom, the sound health, the grace and the divine guidance to impact the history of Nigeria most positively and most remarkably.
“May your tenure be successful, peaceful and progressive. As you are beginning in sound health, may you complete your tenure in sound health.
“I wish to call on all other political parties and their candidates to accept the wishes of God, rally round our new President and support him for the progressive growth and development of Nigeria.
“I also wish to use this opportunity to call on our new President, His Excellency Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR, and his vice, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, GCON, to find ways to involve traditional rulers in the political governance of our domains, at the local, state and federal levels.
“Traditional rulers are people of wisdom, and we hold the history, the culture and heritage of our people in Trust. No government can be said to be successful if the people at the grassroots are not impacted positively by policies of government. We as traditional rulers can help at the grassroots in our domains towards improvement in security, education, cultural re-invigoraton, youth and social development, and many other aspects of life.
“Finally, I congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari, the immediate past President of Nigeria who has just handed over the mantle of leadership to His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for leading the country successfully for eight years and handing over successfully. This is a great achievement, and an leap in our democratic sojourn in Nigeria.
“You have shown that you are a complete gentleman, a man of integrity and honour, a true democrat, and a detribalised Nigerian, and an elder statesman. You might not have satisfied the wishes of everyone, but you have done your best by laying a great foundation for a new Nigeria. After all, no one does it all,” he added.
