The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has said the reappoinment of Rafiu Ajakaye as Chief Press Secretary to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is a product of hard work, dedication and demonstration of utmost professionalism in the discharge of the duties of his office in the last four years.

The council noted that it is gratifying that Ajakaye, with a colossal experience in the field of journalism, set an enviable record in the management of Governor’s media.

This was contained in a joint statement issued in Ilorin today by the Chairman, State Council of NUJ, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed and Assistant Secretary, Olayinka Alaya.

The NUJ recalled that the reappointed CPS also helped in forming a bulwark around the media team of Governor AbdulRazaq through his insatiable quest for innovation and encouragement of new ideas.

The union added that the reappoinment of Ajakaye is a reaffirmation of the Governor’s trust and confidence in him and the NUJ as an indivisible entity.

The union enjoined the Governor’s spokesman to rededicate himself to the service of Almighty God and humanity and sustain his personal traits such as humility, simplicity and modesty that stand him out among his peers.

The NUJ also congratulated Ajakaye for being a good ambassador of the union and prayed to Almighty God to be his guide and guard in the tasks ahead of him.

“We specifically thank Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the continued demonstration of trust and confidence he has in the media and NUJ in particular with the reappoinment of Rafiu Ajakaye as his Chief Press Secretary. It is very heartening.

“As a union, we know the reappoinment didn’t come by chance but a product of hard work, dedication and demonstration of professionalism, which hallmarked Ajakaye’s duty in the last four years.

Our prayer is that Almighty God guides and guards him in the tasks ahead of him to be able to do more and etch his name in the sand of time”, the NUJ’s statement partly read.
