The Borno State Muslim Pilgrimage Welfare Board has been dissolved by the state Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum.
Governor Zulum, according to a reliable source, however, gave the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alh Ali Mallam Bukar, to oversee this year Hajj operations which had already commenced.
The dissolution of the Board came to the fore few days after the commencement of the 2023 Hajj exercise.
“Yes, the board has been dissolved but the Governor said the ES can travel to Saudi Arabia to oversee the affairs of the state pilgrims because all the arrangements and plans had been put in place under him.
“He will hand over the affairs of the board immediately he returns from Hajj,” the source revealed” the source added.
