The National secretariat of the National Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria (NAPTAN) has dissolved the executives of the association in Osun State.
The leadership of NAPTAN in the state has been enmeshed in leadership tussle since Mr Akinlolu Fadare took over the leadership of the association.
Fadare, a former secretary of the association succeeded Mr Bisi Olaniyan as chairman but his emergence did not follow due process and the constitution of the association.
Both Olaniyan and Fadare were alleged of various offences including embezzlement of funds and illegal conversion of association properties to personal belongings.
In a letter addressed to the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Education and signed by the National Legal Adviser of the association, Alhaji Jimoh Abiodun the association announced the appointment of caretaker management committee to lead the association in the state.
The letter reads in part “I write to inform you that the Osun state chapter of NAPTAN executives have been dissolved with effect from Monday 22nd May, 2023.
“The composition of Mr Fadare Akinlolu and Mr Olaniyan Bisi led executives in Osun state chapter of NAPTAN is against article 1X sub section 1 and 2(c) of our great association’s constitution and thereby make it illegal and remain dissolved.
“Following the dissolution of the Osun state chapter of NAPTAN, all the properties, documents and records of Osun state chapter of NAPTAN should be handed over to the newly appointed committee members led by Alhaji Eniola Sakariyaw pending the state Congress to be conducted by the National body.
