Crown-Hill University (CHU), Eyenkorin, Ilorin, has commenced a comprehensive staff screening and audit exercise as parts of efforts to reposition the institution to an enviable standard.
Flagging off the exercise at the institution’s Council Chamber, the Chairman, Board of Trustee (BOT) of CHU, Prof. Ayodele Soladoye, said the measures was aimed at restructuring and repositioning the University for optimal staff productivity.
Soladoye added that the step was also targeted at resource allocation and application to enable the University keep on producing quality graduates who can stand tall and compete favourably with their counterparts in today’s competitive and technology driven world.
Professor Soladoye charged the University management to walk the talk by acting appropriately and urgently on the outcome and recommendations of the committee.
He thanked the screening committee for accepting to serve the CHU in this capacity and was confident that the outcome of the screening will be very apt and worthwhile going by the composition of the men and woman of vast knowledge and reach experience as members of the Screening and Audit Committee.
The committee comprised former Vice-Chancellor, Al Hikmah University, Ilorin and Federal University of Technology Minna, Prof. Musbau Adewumi Akanji as chairma; other members are, a Legal Practitioner Mrs Oluronke Adeyemi; former Deputy Bursar, Unilorin Mr ‘Dere Munirudeen Abiodun; former Deputy Registrar, Unilorin, Mr Musliudeen Adegoke; Dr. Quadri Olaide Nurudeen, Al Hikmah University and former Registrar, Kwara State University Malete, Engr. Shuaibu Ajibola Muhammed.
In his comment, the Chairman, Screening Committee, Prof. Musbau Akanji, thanked the Chairman of the BOT for the confidence reposed in the committee and promised that the committee would not betray the trust by delivering on its terms of reference.
“This exercise is urgently needed as a first step in right sizing and ensuring that round pegs are actually in round holes so that staff productivity can be optimized” ProfessorAkanji said.
Also speaking, the Vice – Chancellor CrownHill University (CHU) Prof. Jeleel Olasunkanmi Ojuade thanked the members of the Committee for accepting to serve unconditionally despite the short notice and their busy schedules.
He conveyed the appreciation of the Chancellor and new owner of the University, Arole Oodua Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife to members of the committee.
The Vice Chancellor described the exercise as ‘the dawn of a new beginning’ in fulfillment of his promise on 23rd January 2023 on the occasion of his Inaguration as the third Vice- Chancellor of the University.
He assured all members of staff of the University that the exercise was not meant to witch-hunt, humiliate, embarrass and/or harrass anyone but to start the University on a clean note.
Prof. Ojuade allayed their fears and demonstrated humility in leadership and implicit confidence in the Committee by submitting himself to be screened and audited by the committee.
