The Daudu of Malete, Alhaji Ibrahim Belko Beribeko has pledged support to the newly appointed acting Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University, Prof. Shaykh Luqman Jimoh.
Alhaji Beribeko made the pledge on Wednesday (December 21, 2022) during the courtesy visit to the management of the Kwara State University in Malete.
The traditional ruler who was accompanied by the Magaji of Malete, Alhaji Abdulrahman Babatunde Oreoluwa and other notable members of the community, expressed heartfelt sympathy over the demise of the late Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN who died on 20th of November, 2022.
He stressed that the community enjoyed cordial relationship with the University during the administration of the late Vice Chancellor, urging the new administration to sustain the established relationship.
He prayed for the new administration that Allah will give the Acting Vice Chancellor the wisdom and sound health to run the affairs of the University.
Responding, the Ag Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jimoh, thanked the Daudu of Malete and members of his entourage for the visit, assuring that the new administration will consolidate on the already established relationship.
Also, the Registrar, Dr. Wasilat Kikelomo Sallee expressed gratitude to the community for standing by the University during the bereavement period, she then called for the strengthening of the existing town and gown relationship.
Also in attendance included the Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Abdulrauf Ambali; Director of University Relations, Dr Saeedat Aliyu: Deputy Bursar, Mr Dauda Folorunsho among others.
