Not less than 50 indigent pupils from selected primary schools in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, have again benefitted from Bazarab Educational Foundation annual scholarship awards.
The gesture, according to the CEO of the Foundation, Dr (Mrs) Zainab Bolajoko Balogun, was designed to support indigent pupils whom parents and guardians are struggling to give them western education.
Presenting the cash to beneficiaries in their respective schools on Monday, Dr Balogun disclosed that her foundation had since it’s inception in 2012 commenced the cash donation to indigent and vulnerable pupils to enable them have access to sound and qualitative education like other pupils who are born with proverbial spoon in their mouths.
She explained that the gesture was born out of the decision of the Foundation to contribute it’s quota through their widows might in order to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged in the society, adding that the selected pupils will enjoy the scholarship for the next three years.
“We have started since the inception of the organisation as far back as 2012, we are not too buoyant but taking out of the little that we have to help others as a a way of giving the opportunity to the vulnerable ones to tell them they can grow and be great like others in life” she said.
Ten pupils of Baboko Primary School, Ilorin benefitted from the scholarship, the school where Dr Balogun graduated in 1976.
Similarly, 5 pupils were selected from Ansarul Islam Primary School Oke Aluko; 15 pupils from Solagberu Primary School; 5 pupils from Pake Primary School, Ipata; 5 pupils from St. William Primary School Taiwo Isale; and 5 pupils from Danialu Primary School.
